Korean dogs are loved all over the world. This is because it is not easy to find small and cute puppies abroad. Over the years,

Korean pet sales businesses have received inquiries about pre-sale, and some them have quickly decided to specialize in overseas pre-sale.

As if deriding overseas consumers who cannot directly visit the store, however, some small businesses leave puppies and cats in messy and narrow stores,

do not conduct health checkups, and send out dogs with health concerns despite knowing about them and cut off contact,

habitually doing pre-sale without any clear plans or systems.

In addition, these businesses violate the regulations and feed young puppies without considering their conditions --

claiming that the puppies are difficult to take care as they get older – and shipping them indiscriminately, which has raised concerns over the puppies’ health.

MINIPET, which was started in 2001 in the Seongsu headquarters in Seongsu-dong, Seoul,

has been operating only four directly managed stores in Seongsu, Gangnam, Bucheon, and Suwon for 20 years now.

The company has also entered overseas sales business under the name “Korean Teacup Puppies” and achieving remarkable performance.

"Since dogs are sent on a plane to a distant country, I was thinking carefully about how to sell healthy dogs to overseas customers.

Then, a US customer contacted me to ask for help, saying that s/he was scammed by a Korean company at the time. Afterward,

I heard many cases of overseas sale scams but could not bear to see the status of Korean companion animals declining,

so I started this business of leading a proper pre-sale culture,” CEO Hwang said.

CEO Hwang added that he manages overseas sales in the same system as in Korea with the know-how of operating MINIPET for 20 years,

and that the name “Korea Teacup Puppies” also means that he will do his best to establish a healthy companion animal culture representing South Korea.
